Tony
Roberts has been sculpting for many years, so many that
he is now beginning to resemble some of the Standing Stones
that have influenced much of his work.
His
main body of work is in glass... although he also works
in plaster, wood, and ceramics. His
methods are unique. There can be a dozen layers of fine
artwork within the one inch thickness of a six-foot high
work. The result is a sculpture with many different characters
and moods depending upon the direction of its lighting from
the front, side, or behind.
Tony’s
studio/workshop is by his home … a nineteenth-century
converted barn in Lancashire, England. Visitors are more
than welcome: there are usually dozens of recent works outside
in his garden gallery.
His
sculptures are collected widely, both in Europe and in the
USA, and are exhibited both privately and in public.
